Regional Satellite Imagery

Regional satellite imagery is often the starting point of any remote sensing project for mining and exploration projects, due to several factors:

  • Need to see the area of interest (AOI) in context to regional geology and geomorphology
  • Sometimes the AOI may be changed in relative context to factors including but not limited to geology, political boundaries and transport routes
  • Cost: Regional satellite imagery is the not only relatively cheap to order and process, but it is also easier to work with and requires minimal user processing
  • Speed: In many cases regional satellite imagery is already archived, allowing for a quick turn-around time in your order. In addition, as most of the imagery is archived, the best archived scenes can be searched according to, different variables, for example – cloud cover and dry season vs wet season imagery.
